The amount of losses incurred by one of Ukraine's largest agricultural companies as a result of Russia's war against Ukraine is about $1 billion. This was reported by the press service of Ukrlandfarming, citing the findings of a group of lawyers preparing the company's claim against the aggressor country.

In particular, this includes Europe's largest egg farm, Chornobaivske, in Kherson region, a number of destroyed poultry farms in other regions, 160,000 hectares of cropland lost, and destroyed and looted regional depots and grain elevators in Kherson, Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv regions, as well as in Kyiv region and near Kyiv City.

During the temporary occupation, the group completely lost production at Chornobaivske and Chornobaivka Nova poultry farms, where a total of 4.5 million poultry were starved to death by the Russian invasion, property and communications were destroyed, and modern high-tech equipment was taken to Russia.

Egg farms in Mykolaiv region, Donetsk region (Donetsk Egg Farm, as well as in Volnovakha and Bakhmut) and Kyiv region were also destroyed, looted or damaged by shelling. In total, the production of chicken eggs has dropped by 60%. The situation with the deliberate killing of 4.5 million birds by the occupiers at the Chornobaivske egg farm is classified by Ukrainian law enforcement as ecocide, and this issue was discussed specifically at a meeting of the UN General Assembly. In addition, the company's production facilities in a number of regions were destroyed, and agricultural machinery, vehicles and tangible assets were stolen and taken by the Russian occupiers.

"Ukrlandfarming is one of the country's largest agricultural group. Prior to Russia's large-scale aggression against Ukraine, the group's facilities operated out of 600 settlements in 22 regions of Ukraine. The group is engaged in growing grains and oilseeds, seed, livestock farming and production of eggs and egg products (Avangardco IPL). Ukrlandfarming is owned by Ukrainian businessman Oleg Bakhmatyuk.
